Solemnity - Resurrection of the Lord - Easter Sunday - 31 March 2024 (Year B) Mass Readings: Act 10: 34a.37-43    Ps 118: 1-2, 16-17, 22-23    Col 3:1-4    Jn 20:1-9 Key Verse to Meditate: Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb (Jn 20:1). Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus, Happy Easter to all of you in the name of the risen Lord, Alleluia. After forty days of rigorous fasting, prayer, and abstinence, we are extremely happy to celebrate Easter, which is the Solemnity of Solemnities, the center and climax of the Christian faith in the liturgical year. Celebrating Easter signifies that sin is destroyed, death is overcome by the death of Jesus on the cross, and divine life is restored to us by the resurrection of Jesus. The resurrection of Christ is a pledge of our own resurrection. It is the foundation upon which our faith rests. It is the guarantee of our redemp

Key Verse to Meditate: “ You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here” (Mk 16:6). Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus, Happy Easter to all in the name of the risen Lord. We have been preparing for this great feast with a lot of prayers, penance, and meditation on the Passion of the Lord. Today’s Easter vigil Mass is the greatest of all vigil celebrations, the mother of all vigils, says St. Augustine. It is placed at the heart of the liturgical year, at the center of every celebration. Because, on this holy night, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus from death. Jesus, as the Saviour, has won victory over death, destroying death as the penalty for our sins. Jesus has brought us close to God by his pre

Good Friday – The Passion of the Lord- God who died for Love - 29 March 2024 Service Readings: Is 52:13-53:12   Ps 31:1, 5,11-12, 14-15, 16, 24   Heb 4:14-16; 5:7-9   Jn 18:1- 19:42 Key Verse to Meditate:  When Jesus had received the wine, he said, "It is finished." Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit (Jn 19:30). Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus, Today, the whole world celebrates Good Friday or Holy Friday, the day on which Christ died on the Cross at Mount Calvary for the redemption of the world. Jesus died on the Cross: This is our faith and proclamation. In Jesus’ death on the cross, we can understand surely that love is stronger than death (Jn 3:16-17). Good Friday is the day when the Church stops at the foot of the cross to meditate again on the immense value of Christ's love definitively manifested by his death. Today, the Church is silent. The disciples are silent. Our churches are bare, unadorned, and silent. In the evening, during the adora

Maundy Thursday - 28 April 2024 Mass Readings: Ex 12:1-8.11-14, Ps 116:12-13, 15-16, 17-18   1Cor 11: 23-26, Jn 13:1-15 Key Verse to Meditate: So, if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet (Jn 13:14). Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Lord, Today, the Church celebrates Maundy Thursday, the commemoration of the Last Supper of the Lord, as we begin the Triduum for the feast of Easter. Maundy Thursday reminds us of the Last Supper that Jesus had with his disciples before his passion and death. Jesus spends the last hours before his arrest in the company of his apostles, celebrating the Passover with them. He shows extraordinary love for his beloved disciples, teaching them about the commandment of love and leaving them with recommendations. Today’s celebration also reminds us of the institution of the sacraments of the Eucharist and the Holy Priesthood. Along with these two great events, Maundy Thursday reminds us of the g
